And yet another PokerStars cooler. Would you have played it any different? I guess I could have just flat called, but I would likely have jammed the J high flop with all that money in there anyway, and that is a flush-draw board. Oh well…
Ahhh… another PokerStars cooler

First PokerStars Tournament in the books
March 31st, 2008 · No Comments
Hey everyone,
Our first PokerStars private tournament kicked off last night, and I have to say it was a really good time! Just like at the live games, the joking around between one another made it all the more fun. Here are the results from last night’s game:
1: TheMark7799 (Spring Brook Twp), $90.00 (50%) — Mark Battle
2: Cardshark (Scranton), $54.00 (30%) — Robert Jacobs
3: irish3403 (Throop), $36.00 (20%) — Mark Reilly
4: acesss (Archbald), — Jerry Johnson
5: PA_Kid3 (Olyphant), — Kevin Gibbons
6: airbuspilot (hilton Head), — Brian Bell
7: Hatrick22 (Dickson City), — Mark Wisniewski
8: kfiedler (Moscow), — Kevin Fiedler
9: MizzBlueyes (Moosic), — MicheleH
I’m thinking we’ll run another one this coming Sunday, maybe I’ll drop it back to 8pm and maybe I’ll also reduce the buy-in to $10 so we get a bigger turnout. This isn’t set in stone yet, so let me know some thoughts on this.

Pokerstars Private Tournament
March 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Hey everyone,
Been a loooong time since my last post, but that’s just because there hasn’t been much news to post about. The stats are still updated every week, and I’m sure by now we all know how to reach the STATS PAGE
So for those of you that play online, I recently had PokerStars setup my account to allow for creation of private tournaments. I thought this would be kind of cool so that even when a live game couldn’t come together, we could all at least play against each other online. Tonight I’m going to run the first of hopefully many private tournaments on Stars.
The tournament is going to run at 9pm tonight (Sunday the 30th) on PokerStars. This will be a $20+$2 buy-in tournament, and is open to everyone that gets this message and to any family/friends that you might want to invite to play. This is a password protected tournament, and the password for tonight’s game is: irish08
To find the tournament, login to PokerStars and click on the “Tourney” button. Once you’re viewing the scheduled tournaments, click the “Private” tab. Now you can sort these private tournaments by name and/or tournament number. The name of tonight’s tournament is “Molly Maguires $20″ and the tournament ID is 82862273 I registered early, so you’ll see my ID (PA_Kid3) already sitting in the game waiting for it to start.
I do hope to see some of our Mollys regulars in tonight’s tournament, and make sure to let everyone know who you are in the chat box!

Week 6 Posted
January 28th, 2008 · No Comments
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to make a quick post letting everyone know that Week 6 stats have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Congrats to FrankM for his win, and to Joe Battaglia for the runner-up finish. We’ll be back again this coming Wednesday at the regular time (7pm).
Also, I haven’t forgotten about the $100 cash buy-in tournament we tried to run last month. I will re-schedule that tournament at some point in the near future, since it’s nearing the beginning of February it will most likely be toward the end of the month. More on that as the plan develops…

Just a quick note letting everyone know that weeks 4 & 5 have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Congrats to CoryM for his win in last night’s tournament, and to Pat Judge for his 2nd place finish.
Also a reminder that we will NOT be having a game next Wednesday ( the 16th). We’ll be back to regular schedule the following Wednesday (the 23rd).

Weeks 2 & 3 Posted
December 29th, 2007 · No Comments
Just a quick note letting everyone know weeks 2 & 3 stats have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Week 2 stats were posted last week, but I didn’t have a chance to make a blog post to announce it.
Congrats to Mark Masters for his 1st place finish this week, and to Robert Jacobs for his runner-up finish. I think we’re going to have to come up with a nickname for Mark after all his strong finishes at Mollies! Congrats also to BenG for a very strong 3rd place finish after being away from the freeroll for awhile. Great job guys!

Week 1 Results Posted + Congrats to champ
December 13th, 2007 · No Comments
Hey everyone,
Congratulations to Mike Fischetti for his first place finish in the championship week game. Mike came into the championship with the point lead, and was able to hold onto that lead all the way to a 1st place finish. JohnN finished as the runner-up, and Jim Babinski came in 3rd. Congrats to all 3, and to all those that made it into the championship week game.
Tonight’s regular game had 40 players exactly, which completely filled up the room. John Stofko took down the 1st place finish with 20 points, and Katie Dalton came in 2nd for 17 points. Full point breakdown can be found on the STATS PAGE.
Just an FYI…. the poker night is ON as scheduled for the next bunch of weeks. Some people were asking if we’re off the week of Christmas or other weeks, and I really don’t see the need to have a night off. Christmas falls on a Tuesday, so the day after would be our poker night — which should be absolutely fine. So unless I mention otherwise, just consider the next bunch of Wednesdays business as usual ![]()

| Mike Fischetti | 56k |
| Robert Kotarba | 55K |
| Deb B | 50k |
| Nancy Davitt | 47k |
| Jim Babinski | 46k |
| JohnMik | 46k |
| FrankM | 41k |
| JohnN | 37k |

Just like last time around, if we have a no-show then we WILL put in an alternate. The three alternates will be Pauly Plotkin, TanaC and Joan Kotarba. One of the players that are in the final 16 has already told me that he will be running late, so this will NOT be a no-show situation since I’m aware of it ahead of time. Just wanted to make that clear for everyone
That’s all for today’s post… don’t forget that next week is also WEEK 1 of the new round of points, so make sure to come on out for some easy points!

Week 7 Results Posted + Private Tournament info
November 16th, 2007 · No Comments
Hello everybody,
Week 7 results have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Congrats to Robert Catanzaro for his win this week, and to Patrick Smith for his runner-up finish. It was Robert’s first time playing at Mollys, so definitely a great job on his part for taking 1st.
PRIVATE POKER TOURNAMENT
In my announcement this week I mentioned the Private Poker Tournament on December 15th, and I also had some information handouts available on the tables. I went ahead and made a PDF of this same document for everyone, and you can download it HERE.
Just to recap, this is going to be a $100 buy-in tournament with some excellent cash prizes available to the winners. The tournament structure is taken directly from Turning Stone’s Empire State Holdem Championships - and I have to say this was one of the best structured tournaments I’ve ever played in. The extra levels like the 50/75 allow for so much more play, so this doesn’t turn into a pure luck-based tournament.
GET IN FOR JUST $12!
Starting on the next poker night, I’m going to run the sit-and-go’s like we always do — but with a twist. These sit-and-go’s are also going to act as a satellite to win your way into the $100 tournament on the 15th. With 8 players per table, if each player bought in for $12.50 there would be exactly $100 in the prize pool. So the winner of the sit-and-go will win their way directly into the $100 game, and of course the points will still apply as well. This is a great way to get in for very cheap. You could possibly turn $12.50 into almost $1700!

Week 6 Results Posted
November 12th, 2007 · No Comments
Week 6 results have been posted to the STATS PAGE since Thursday of last week, but just got around to making this blog post today
Congrats to Mr. Dewers himself, Pauley Plotkin for taking 1st place in last week’s tournament which was good for $50 and 20 points. And congrats to TanaC for taking the runner-up spot.
The game will be on as scheduled for next week, but the following Wednesday is the night before Thanksgiving - and we will be doing an off week that night. So once again, next week we are ON and the following week (11/21) we will be off. I’ll remind everyone about this in my announcement on Wednesday.
