Hey everyone,
Just a quick post letting everyone know that Week 5 stats have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Also, for the second time we have a back-to-back repeat winner - Bob Kotarba. Bob took 1st last week, and then came back from a short stack this week to take first place yet again. Congrats Bob! And keeping it in the family, Joan Kotarba took the runner-up spot in this week’s game… congrats to Joan as well.

Week 3 stats have been posted to the STATS PAGE. Congrats to Jim Babinski for his 1st place finish in last night’s game, and congrats to Mike Fischetti for his runner-up finish.
Not a whole lot of news regarding the game, so I’ll keep this post short and sweet. Hope to see everyone next Wednesday!

Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that our new start time of 7pm begins this week. This is a half hour earlier than normal, and will be the start time each week from now on - so please make a note of it. Also please try to arrive with enough time for registration and seating, so around 6:30pm the latest for arrival.
See everyone tomorrow night…

So apparently the state of Illinois is taking a hard stance on free tavern poker tournaments, and have put a stop to them for no good reason. Here’s the link: http://www.suntimes.com/news/brown/596081,CST-NWS-brown10.article

So you guys see me complain about bad beats all the time here on the blog, but check this one out: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1572346
This was actually in the Bodog 30k guarantee from Tuesday night, I had to manipulate the hand history file so Pokerhand.org would accept it.

Hey everyone,
Week 1 & Week 2 stats have been posted to the STATS PAGE . If you notice the point values looking a bit strange for this week’s game, that’s because I finally added those 2 point bonuses to the 16 “championship game” players - so you should see a two point bump for each of these names this week.
A big congrats goes out to Nancy Davitt for her win in tonight’s game. Nancy made a very courageous call with bottom pair against a 110,000 chip bet from Paul Nepa. The bottom pair ended up being good enough, and took down the entire pot and knocked Paul out in 2nd place - a big congratulations goes out to Paul also.
As I mentioned tonight, we will have a Week Off next week but will return again on 10/17 at 7pm instead of 7:30. So please make a note of the new start time.
That’s everything for today… see you all in two weeks!

A big congrats goes out to MarkM for his win of the last points round. I meant to post this days ago, but simply haven’t gotten around to it until today. Mark outlasted a tough field of 16, coming into the championship game as one of the lowest chip stacks - but overcame the deficit and took home the grand prize. Congrats again Mark!

Hello everybody,
Week 9 results have been posted to the STATS PAGE, and a big congratulations goes out to MarkB for his very impressive come from behind victory in this week’s game. Also a big congrats goes out to DebB for a great runner-up finish in tonight’s game.
Mark needed this win to hit the Top 16 and make it into the championship week game. However, 16th place ended up being a tie between Mark and Lena - and Lena ended up having a 1.37% better average finish, which means Lena makes the 16th spot for the championship week game. If by chance someone in the Top 16 does not show up on the final week, then the next players down the list will fill their place as alternates.
With that being said, there will be no room for late signups for those that fall in the Top 16. This is a unique game with chips stacks equaling points, and only room for 16 players. So please be very aware of the start time of the game (7:30pm sharp) - if by chance you will be running even 5 minutes late, please call ahead otherwise your seat will be forefitted.
Here’s a full breakdown of the Top 16 for next week:
| Player |
Points/Chip Stack |
| Robert Jacobs |
63k |
| FrankM |
61K |
| MikeK |
55k |
| SamG |

36k |
| Susan O. |
36k |
| MarkM |
33k |
| Jason Koval |

| Lena Franceschini |

Three alternates will be MarkB, Frank Wojciechowsk & Greg Angeli. Again, this is IF someone that made the Top 16 does not show up to play. That’s everything for tonight’s post… see everyone next Wednesday!

First blind level in a $30 SNG - this maniac comes over the top of me for all of my chips. If he had AA or KK he wouldn’t be making this play, so after thinking about it for quite awhile (which you don’t see in the re-player) I make the call. Well, the rest is history…

Hey everybody,
Just a quick post to let everyone know that Week 7 results have been posted. As always, click the STATS PAGE link up top to see all the current point standings.
BettyK was a wrecking machine last night, knocking out player after player and going on to take 1st place in the tournament. A big congrats goes out to her, and also a congrats to Bryan Bartkowski for his runner-up finish. With this finish both players are firmly in the top 10, and should easily make the championship week game on Week 10.
That’s everything for today’s post. Remember NO POKER NEXT WEEK - we will return back to our normal schedule on 09/12.
